Yuna wrapped her own arms around him; she was laughing. “You’re a bit more romantic than usual, Tidus!” She pulled away from the embrace, holding him away at an arm’s length. She smiled, amused. “It’s kind of sweet, actually.” She giggled softly, kissing him lightly.
Tidus. Her guardian: he was there throughout her whole pilgrimage, what was supposed to be her last journey ever but thanks to him, it ended up not being her last. Her friend: they laughed and they smiled together. Her lover: he was the one who had her heart now. Tidus was her fiancé. It was a while back when he had proposed to her. Yuna could honestly say it was one of the happiest days of her life. And he stood in front of her now, being the lovable goofball that she knew she couldn’t live without.
She dropped her hands to her side, one hand finding the engagement ring on her ring finger, idly playing with it. “I feel like… I haven’t seen you in so long, Tidus.” she smiled a bit sadly. Yuna had missed him.
He ran his fingers along her jaw and tilted her head up. “I’ve missed you so much.” He pressed his lips to her shoulder before edging his way up her neck and finding her lips.
“It’s been… too long… I’m so sorry.” He smiled in a soft way, brushing a few stray hairs from her eyes. “My darling fiancé…” He kissed the tip of her nose and slid his hand into hers, feeling the cool metal band press against his hand. “I’m… glad you still have the ring.” He raised her hand to his lips and kissed it gently, his eyes closing.
It was the moments like these he lived for. That look in her eyes let him know the fight was all worthwhile. He tilted her head up once more and kissed her warmly. “I love you.”
